Rebecca Loos, the former personal assistant to David Beckham, has spoken out once again about the long-running controversy surrounding the Beckham family, claiming that Brooklyn Beckham’s recent bombshell statement has vindicated “what I said 22 years ago.”
Loos appears in a new Channel 5 documentary, The Beckham Feud: Truth and Lies, which airs on Sunday and examines the growing rift within one of the world’s most famous families. Her comments follow a dramatic public statement from Brooklyn Beckham, in which he confirmed he has severed ties with his parents and has no intention of reconciling with them.
Brooklyn’s six-page statement, released last week, sent shockwaves through celebrity circles, with the eldest Beckham child accusing his parents of being “controlling and manipulative” and prioritising “brand Beckham” over authentic family relationships. The statement marked the most explicit and definitive break yet between Brooklyn and his family, following years of reported tension since his marriage to Nicola Peltz in 2022.
Loos, who worked as David Beckham’s PA during his time at Real Madrid, is best known for previously alleging that she had an affair with the former England captain in 2004, claims which Beckham has consistently and strongly denied. At the time, the allegations dominated headlines worldwide and were widely viewed as one of the biggest celebrity scandals of the early 2000s.
Reflecting on Brooklyn’s recent words, Loos draws a direct comparison to her own experience more than two decades ago. She said: “Suddenly you're part of a big PR war. In a very small way, this is of course validation for what I said and came forward and said 22 years ago.”
She continued: “Brooklyn is basically confirming inauthentic relationships, value of promotion, endorsements above all else, and that it's all focused on brand Beckham, and that that's all that matters.”
The documentary also revisits one of the most talked-about moments from Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish Florida wedding in 2022. The incident involved Victoria Beckham and singer Marc Anthony, who performed at the reception and reportedly referred to the designer as “the most beautiful person in the room” before a dance that later became a source of controversy.
Addressing Brooklyn’s claim that his mother “hijacked” the couple’s first dance, Loos said: “Whether it came from her or whether it was Marc Anthony is beside the point because it shows a lack of awareness for other people's feelings.”
She added: “I think any other mother would've read the room and understood this is awkward and probably said, thank you for the compliment, but the most beautiful woman in the room is Nicola, Nicola, please take this dance.”
Loos went on to suggest that even if emotions or alcohol were involved, the situation could have been defused, saying: “Or at least if the mother had had a few too many glasses of wine and was unable to read the room, maybe the husband or the father would then have maybe stepped in and maybe grabbed Nicola, twirled her around and then swap partners to let her have the dance.”
As the documentary airs, it adds further fuel to an already intense public debate around family loyalty, image control and the pressures of growing up within a global celebrity brand. While the Beckhams have not responded publicly to Loos’ latest remarks, the fallout from Brooklyn’s statement continues to reverberate well beyond the family itself.
