Britney Spears has entered a treatment facility following her recent arrest on suspicion of DUI.

This comes after the singer was reportedly driving her BMW fast and erratically on US 101 to Ventura County, near the Los Angeles line. Authorities also reported that Spears had taken a series of field sobriety tests, before being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a alcohol and drugs.

A representative on the singer's behalf has said that she has voluntarily checked herself in.

Following her arrest, Spears was taken to a county jail, before being released several hours later.

On March 23, the case was turned over to the Ventura County District Attorney's office, with a decision on whether to bring charges before a scheduled court date on May 4.

Earlier this month, Spears had reportedly expressed willing to follow a new treatment plan following her arrest.

According to the source, Spears' team had been working on a plan to put new safeguards in place amid recent changes in her personal support system.

The source said: “Britney recently let go of her sober coaches and security guards. Her team is helping her reconfigure things and sorting out healthy ways to support her, including mental health services and detox programs". More on this here.

While she may have stayed away from the public eye following her release from her conservatorship in 2021, Britney Spears remains very much sought after as an artist, with Madonna reportedly keen to collaborate with the singer on her new album.

"Madonna believes Britney is not just a brilliant artist, but a lovely person", a source told The Sun's newspaper Bizarre column. “They had a great time in the past working together and had touched on working together again".

“Madonna felt that Britney could bring something to her new album or perhaps join for a writing idea". Find out more on this story here.
