Emma Heming Willis, model and wife of actor Bruce Willis has given an update on the actors battle with dementia. She described the Die Hard star to be "in really great health" but his "brain is failing him."

Heming Willis is her husbands full time carer, as it was revealed that the actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022. She spoke about her 70 year old husbands condition in an interview on ABC News’s Good Morning America show.

"Bruce is still very mobile, Bruce is in really great health overall, it’s just his brain that is failing him," she said in the interview. "The language is going and, you know, we’ve learned to adapt, and we have a way of communicating with him, which is just a different way," she continued.

Heming Willis then went on to describe the moments where she can still recognise her husband, "We still get those days, not days, but we get moments," she said. "Like he has such a hearty laugh, and sometimes you’ll see that twinkle in his eye or that spark, and I just get transported, and it’s just hard to see, because as quickly as those moments appear, then it goes, so it’s hard, but I’m grateful, I’m grateful that my husband is still very much here," she continued.

The former model married Willis in 2009 and they have two children together. She has been open about her life caring for the actor and recently spoke about Willis' early symptoms, saying that "He felt a little cold, not like Bruce who was very warm and very affectionate." "For someone who was very talkative and very engaged, he was just a little more quiet and, when the family would get together, he would just melt a little bit," she said.
