Organisers of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have reportedly incurred more than €41,000 in fines after headline performances by Justin Bieber and Anyma exceeded strict curfew limits.

Bieber, who headlined the 2026 edition of the festival in Indio, performed on April 18 and ran over his allotted stage time by approximately two minutes. The overrun is understood to have triggered a fine of about €18,500 under local regulations governing event curfews.

Despite the penalty, the extended set proved popular with fans. During the performance, Bieber invited longtime friend Billie Eilish to join him on stage, where he performed “One Less Lonely Girl.” Eilish had been watching from the crowd alongside Hailey Bieber, prompting a spontaneous onstage moment that was widely shared on social media.

A separate fine was issued following Anyma’s performance on April 17, which exceeded the festival’s 1am curfew by nine minutes. That breach is reported to have cost organisers approximately €22,000, bringing the total fines for the weekend to around €41,000.

Under long-standing agreements with local authorities, such penalties are paid to the city and allocated to general funds supporting public services, including policing, fire response, and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, industry reports suggest Bieber’s appearance at the festival came with a substantial fee. A 2025 report by Rolling Stone indicated the singer earned in excess of €9.2 million for both weekends, aligning with payments typically received by top-tier Coachella headliners.
