Dani Dyer is set to return to Strictly a year after pulling out of the show with a broken ankle.

The media personality was cast in the original line-up last year but was unfortunatley injured during training and was forced to withdraw from the show.

However, the incident has not discouraged her from trying again. The daughter of soap star Danny Dyer, said in a statement: "I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September!"

"I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one! I'm just over the moon and cannot wait to find out who else is doing it!" she continued.

The 29 year old rose to fame in 2018 after appearing on the reality show 'Love Island. Dyer went on to win her season of Love Island and since she has appeared in a number of television shows such as Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Gogglebox and EastEnders. She has won Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and appeared alongside her father  in The Dyers’ Caravan Park.

The star fractured her ankle after she "landed funny" and after she withdrew from the show, she was replaced with another former Love Islander, Amber Davies. She went on to reach the final of the dancing competition show.

The news of Dyer joing the cast of season 24 of Strictly comes shortly after EastEnders actress Lacey Turner was announced for the show. The news arrived on Wednesday, Turner said that she was "so excited to being making my way to the dance floor", and that she was a "huge fan" of the show.
