Father Ted star Pauline McLynn has joined in the cast in Coronation Street.
The actress, renowned for playing the lovable housekeeper Mrs Doyle in the 90s Irish comedy, will star as part of a new family who will take over the local pub, the Rovers Return Inn.
This new family will see a return to the show for Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley who was last seen on the cobbles in 2018. Eva will return alongside her latest partner, Ben Driscoll, who is portrayed by Shameless star Aaron McCusker, with McLynn playing his interfering mother.
Eva and Ben are to take over as the new landlady and landlord of the pub in October, seven years after Eva left the street to start a new life in France with her daughter.
The cast will also include Ben's two sons and Eva's daughter Suzie.
"We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow", Corrie producer Kelly Brooks said.

Tyldesley's return to the cobbles comes as a myriad of stars who have left the soap, including Sue Cleaver who played Eileen Grimshaw, alongside Helen Worth who played Gail Platt, as well as Colson Smith who played Craig Tinker and Luca Toolan who starred as Mason Radcliffe.
Elsewhere, Sally Ann Matthews was also reportedly "axed" from the soap after almost four decades as Jenny Connor. More here.
