Netflix has finally unveiled new details about its long-awaited documentary on Kylie Minogue. In a statement released on Wednesday morning (April 22), the streaming platform described KYLIE as an “intimate” three-part series, offering a rare look into the life and career of the Australian pop icon.
The documentary will see Minogue open up her personal archives, with the project promising a reflective journey through a career that has “continued to captivate, inspire, and soundtrack multiple generations.”
The series will feature a mix of home video footage, personal photographs, and new interviews with the singer herself, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the woman behind global hits such as “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (No. 7), “Love at First Sight” (No. 23), “I Should Be So Lucky” (No. 28), and her breakout 1988 single “The Loco-Motion” (No. 3).
According to the description, the documentary will also explore how she has navigated “public scrutiny, personal loss, and illness with grit and grace,” earning respect well beyond her fanbase.
The project is directed by Emmy and BAFTA Award-winner Michael Harte (Three Identical Strangers, BECKHAM) and produced by John Battsek’s Ventureland (WHAM!, The Deepest Breath). It will also include contributions from friends, family, and collaborators, including her sister Dannii Minogue, former Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, singer Nick Cave, and others.
No official release date has been confirmed yet.

First announced in 2024, the documentary has been closely anticipated, though details have remained limited and no trailer has been released so far.
Beyond her music career, Minogue has sold over 80 million records worldwide, making her Australia’s best-selling female artist. She has won 18 ARIA Awards and two Grammy Awards, and has also built a film and television career with appearances in titles such as The Delinquents, Street Fighter, Moulin Rouge!, Holy Motors, and The Residence.
She has released 17 studio albums, from her 1988 debut through to 2023’s Tension and its 2024 follow-up Tension II.
Most recently, Minogue was confirmed as the headliner for the 2026 AFL Grand Final at Melbourne’s MCG on September 26, marking a major homecoming performance and making her the first Australian artist to headline the event since 2021.
