Kevin Federline has claimed that a phone call with his ex wife Britney Spears while she was reportedly intoxicated, was the "last straw" in their marriage.

In his new memoir, You Thought You Knew, Federline has alleged that Britney put her social life and partying ahead caring for the former couple's children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are now aged 19 and 20.

Federline has also alleged that Spears used cocaine while she was breastfeeding her children, and also claimed that his former spouse had even started drinking alcohol while she was pregnant and on medication.

"last straw"

However, according to Federline's book, it was an alleged drunken phone call which was the final nail in the coffin for the marriage, reportedly took place with Britney Spears and her friends Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

"I was in Miami for work, trying to stay focused on my commitments, and I got a call. It was her, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan on the line, drunk as hell, begging me to come over," he writes, reports TMZ. "I could hear Preston and Jayden crying in the background. It had to be three or four in the morning. That call was the final straw".

Writing that this was not the first time that this type of incident had occurred, Kevin Federline stated that this incident had stuck with him the most.

"I'd already seen the photos in the tabloids, the ones of her out with them all night, partying at Paris's Malibu place," he said. "But hearing my kids crying while she was doing God-knows-what? That was it. Any deep-seated sliver of hope that I'd held onto, that we might still somehow pull it together for the kids, died right then".

While Britney Spears has yet to respond to the latest allegation, she dismissed similar allegations made against her by Federline in his memoir, stating that he "hates" her.

"I 100 percent beg to differ the way he is literally attacking me in his interviews", she said. "If you really love someone then you don't help them by humiliating them", she said. More on this here.

The singer's representatives have previously accused Federline of "profiting off" her, now that he no longer receives child support.

You Thought You Knew was released yesterday (October 21).
