Lewis Capaldi Fears Tourettes Diagnosis May Force Him To Quit Music

Lewis Capaldi fears that he may have to quit music one day if his Tourette's Syndrome gets worse.

 The Someone You Loved singer admitted that this was a "very real possibility", adding that he chose to go public about his diagnosis “because I didn’t want people to think I was taking cocaine or something”.

Capaldi was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome last September.

In a recent interview, Lewis Capaldi even revealed that making and performing music can make his symptoms worse.

“It’s only making music that does this to me, otherwise I can be fine for months at a time, so it’s a weird situation", he explained. “Right now, the trade-off is worth it, but if it gets to a point where I’m doing irreparable damage to myself, I’ll quit". 

“I hate hyperbole,” he added, “but it is a very real possibility that I will have to pack music in".

While he insisted that he was "trying to get on top of the issue", Capaldi's fears over his Tourette's issue impinging on his future as an artist continue to grow.

 “If I can’t, I’m fucked,” he said bluntly. “It’s easier when I play guitar, but I hate playing guitar. I know, I’m a walking contradiction". 

Lewsi Capaldi will shed further light about his diagnosis in his upcoming Netflix documentary 'How I'm Feeling Now', which will be make its debut on the streaming service on April 5.
