Lorraine Kelly has stated that she is "going going anywhere" despite ITV making cuts to her show.
This comes after her morning show was cut, with Good Morning Britain taking her 9-10am slot for 22 weeks of the year. It was also confirmed that her show's running time was being halved, now airing for 30 minutes from 9.30 am to 10am.
The other 30 weeks of the year will see Lorraine present her show for five days, which means her Friday stand-in presenters Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh will no longer be presenting the show.
While she described these changes as heart-breaking and is "angry" about the situation, Lorraine Kelly has vowed to continue to present the show, joking that she will remain on screen "until people get fed up".
While she is angry over it, Kelly has said that her main focus is to "save as many jobs as possible".
Speaking to The Mirror, Lorraine Kelly has said that her main concern is with the ITV team, amid speculation that up to 220 jobs are at risk, from 450 people employed by ITV's daytime firm.
She said: "It’s been difficult with the cuts, it’s been hard. I’m a lot happier about it now, but it was honestly and genuinely all about the team. I wasn't annoyed or angry about this for me... it was about the team,' she told the outlet".
"I am going to be toddling off that show in my Zimmer frame and even then, I’ll be coming in", she added, joking: "I don’t see me going anywhere until people get fed up, you know? Until people say, I’ve had enough of that one".
Back in May, Kelly returned to work after undergoing "preventative" surgery to remove her ovaries. More on this here.
