Martine McCutcheon's estranged mother, Jenny Tomlin has begged for a reconciliation with her daughter, after the pair cut all ties recently.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Jenny Tomlin who did admit to cutting all ties with Martine, but is now desperate to patch things up with her daughter.
Having been once been very close as a mother and daughter, Jenny revealed that she suffered an emotional breakdown following the death of her son Laurence John in 2022, leading to her cutting off from Martine, despite attempts by the actress to get in touch.
Jenny admitted that in the depths of her grief, she neglected her surviving child.
"When I lost LJ, I detached", Jenny stated. "I was so heartbroken I couldn’t talk to Martine. There was no big row- Martine tried to contact me for months, but I didn’t answer. Martine was grieving and needed me, too. I want the chance to say sorry. I miss her so much it physically hurts".
"I didn’t contact Martine. I abandoned her", she continued. "I was so wrapped up in my own grief that I was neglecting my other child. That was the start of it, and things just… snowballed".
Martine and Jenny did briefly reconnect last October when the former EastEnders star sought a favour from Jenny's husband, Alan. However, despite this, Jenny said that this meeting was "awkward" with a "heavy atmosphere".
According to Jenny, other attempts made by her to patch things up were thwarted by Martine, including driving to Martine's Surrey home, but there was no answer when she knocked on the door.
She added that this divide has made her feel like she has not only lost her son, she has also lost touch with her 10 year old grandson, Rafferty. Despite this, she insists that she will never give up and will continue to try to make contact with her daughter, saying that she "doesn't want to lose another child".
This comes just a year after Martine McCutcheon announced that she had spilt up with her husband Jack McManus after 18 years together. More on this here.
