In her new Christmas special which premiered on Netflix, Meghan has revealed that she leaves a love letter inside the Christmas cracker for her husband Prince Harry.
This special one off episode, whose trailer dropped last month, follows on from the Duchess of Sussex's two Netflix seasons of With Love, Meghan, as shows Meghan offering up tips for the festive people. In it, Meghan urges people to make each day in December "special", adding: "But don’t feel like you have to do it all".
Meghan Markle goes on to reveal that she loves Christmas, including advent calendars and Yuletide wreaths, with trees allowing you to "really encapsulate your family story, really feel the passage of time and the different chapters of your life through the ornaments".
The episode also sees her and friends dressing up in matching red pyjamas, making handmade personalised crackers. She adds a lavender roll-on scent for her four year old daughter Princess Lili, a tiny toy burger and fries for six year old son Prince Archie, as well as a "little love letter" for Harry.
"Lili really likes trying to be a grown-up lady at the moment".
Markle adds: "My husband’s has a little love letter, a chocolate, a little hat", and she labels the cracker: "My Love" rather than: "Harry".
Of Archie, she says: "Now I’m on to Archie and I’m doing burgers and he loves the colour red".
Meghan also goes on to suggest "trying to really embrace and lean into making every day of that month special as you’re wrapping up a year.
"But don’t feel like you have to do it all. Just embrace the special touches that bring you joy".
While Archie and Lili do not feature in the episode themselves, loving husband Harry makes a cameo near the end, where he walks into the kitchen while Meghan and restaurateur Tom Colicchio are cooking. He greets his wife with a kiss on the lips and says to the pair: "Hi guys. I smelled gumbo".
It was at this point that Meghan reveals that her mother Doria Ragland makes gumbo, a Tennessee casserole of chicken, sausage, shrimp and spices on Christmas Eve, adding that she "always saves a portion on the side" for Harry without fish in it.
