It turns out that Meryl Streep and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are related.
Up until now, the the only connection between the pair was the thoughts that Meryl Streep's character from the film Devil Wears Prada, Miranda Priestly was inspired by Wintour.
At the first film's premiere in 2006, Wintour seemed to take this in her stride, having arrived to the event, "wearing Prada, completely having no idea what the film was going to be about".
Speaking about this previously, Wintour said: "I think that the fashion industry was very sweetly concerned for me about the film, that it was going to paint me in some kind of difficult light".
"I found it highly enjoyable. It was very funny. Miuccia [Prada] and I talk about it a lot, and I say to her, "Well, it was really good for you", she added.
Wintour believes the film "had a lot of humour to it', adding: "It had a lot of wit. It had Meryl Streep. I mean, it was Emily Blunt, [and] they were all amazing. In the end, I thought it was a fair shot".
In more present times, Meryl Streep is to reprise her role as Miranda Priestly in Devil Wears Prada 2, which will land on cinema screens on May 1.
But it has emerged that Streep and Wintour have a lot more in common than first meets the eye.
According to Ancestry, the pair also share fifth great grand-parents, Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Kinsey, which makes them sixth cousins.
