Millie Bobby Brown has described the moment Raye performed at her wedding as “epic”, saying the singer helped make the day even more unforgettable.

The Stranger Things star married Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi, last year, and revealed that the pair put serious effort into their first dance — including taking lessons and learning a full choreographed routine.

Speaking on the podcast Dish from Waitrose, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Brown explained that she initially wanted to recreate the iconic Dirty Dancing lift but ultimately decided it was too risky. As she put it: “Oh my God, if you get that lift wrong, it’s too much.”

Instead, the couple performed a six-minute medley of songs from Grease. Brown said: “I grew up doing so many dance routines at pretty much any family gathering. So when Jake proposed I was like: ‘We have to learn a dance routine… When the song comes on when we’re 80, we’re gonna remember the dance.’”

After weeks of practice, their performance went down a treat. “People were like, ‘Oh my God, you can tell she’s an actor’,” she joked.

But one of the standout moments of the day came during her “daddy-daughter dance”, when Raye stepped out to perform live, alongside songs by Frank Sinatra. Brown said simply: “It was amazing. So epic.”

The actor, who was just 12 when she began filming Stranger Things, also spoke about the emotional end of the series. With the final season now completed, she admitted she “cried for about three hours” the night before shooting her last scenes and “burst out crying” upon arriving on set the next day. “It was really, really emotional,” she said.

During the lighter parts of the interview, Brown revealed a few of her quirks — including her love of carrots and her dislike of cake, coconuts, cous cous and quinoa. She also doubled down on her long-held stance against snapping food for social media: “Instagram does not eat first… I’m somebody who likes to be as present as possible.”

The conversation offered fans a rare glimpse into her wedding, her work, and her personal habits — all delivered with the grounded, candid tone that has made her one of Hollywood’s most relatable young stars.
