Netflix have launched a new three part series which will tell the story of when a young girl named Amy Lynn Bradley went missing while travelling with her family on a cruise ship to the Caribbean ship, Curacao in March 1998.
This three part docuseries which is the latest eerie tale of missing people told by Netflix, will be released on Wednesday (July 16), is titled, Amy Bradley Is Missing. The 23 year old was a college graduate at the time, who was joined by her parents Ron and Iva Bradley and younger brother Brad on this holiday.
Two nights into their holiday, Amy spent some time dancing at the cruise ship's nightclub, before going for a rest in her cabin, the place she was last spotted. By the time her father went to check on her the next morning, she had disappeared, leaving behind a a pair of sandals and a polo shirt.
Following this, a full investigation into her disappearance was conducted by the FBI. Despite this, and her family's tireless search for her, Amy Bradley was never found.
Directed by Ari Mark, and Phil Lott, Amy Bradley Is Missing will explore the various leads and reported sightings of Amy over last twenty-odd years, which have left the family still looking for answers.
"There are a few stories that you just have to tell and many that deserve to be told. This was a must-do for us", Mark and Lott said.
When it comes to unsolved missing persons cases, they also added that they knew it was "not uncommon" for loved ones to believe that the individual was still alive when no body was found.
They also said there was something about this case that "felt different", having gotten to know the Bradley family over the last few months, as well as delving through Amy's duffel bag which she took on that holiday, as well as her immaculate Miata car which had a full tank, waiting for her return.
According to the producers, two things about this case stood out. "First, that the family's belief that Amy is still alive was and continues to be unbreakable and second, that maybe they're right".
It was also revealed that every inch of the Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line's ship Rhapsody of the Seas was searched in light of Amy's disappearance, and conflicting reports began to come in about her exact location.
Some witnesses have claimed to have seen a mysterious woman heading up to the top deck in the early hours of that morning in March 1998, while others claimed that they saw her with an unidentified ship worker.
Amy's brother Brad has spoken of the pain and turmoil her family have suffered since his sister went missing.
"Myself and my parents have had to endure a lot of sadness but the last thing that I ever said to Amy was, "I love you", before I went to sleep that night", he told producers. "Knowing that's the last thing I said to her has always been very comforting to me".
