Jeremy Clarkson has announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
The former Top Gear presenter revealed this news during the final episodes of the fifth series of Clarkson's Farm, which had premiered overnight on Amazon Prime Video.
In the episode, Clarkson can be seen telling his co stars, Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper, that he has known since May, describing his disease as "aggressive" but says it's at a "really early stage".
It later cuts to Clarkson in hospital, where he says: "some of the treatment has gone awry".
"I'm going to be here for a little while," he adds. "I don't know what's going to happen."
"If this is all successful, I'll see you for season six. And if it isn't, I won't. Take care, everyone".
Prior to this, Clarkson had warned his fans on Instagram that the latest episodes would be a "difficult watch".
Back in October last year, Jeremy Clarkson had revealed he was admitted to hospital to undergo an urgent procedure, ironically just a matter of hours after he had written a polemical column about Britain's health service to the Sunday Times. More on this here.
Two years ago, Clarkson also underwent a procedure on his heart, having suffered a "sudden deterioration" to his health. He also revealed to the Sunday Times that he was "days away" from potentially becoming very ill.
"It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way", the presenter said at the time.
In another interview with The Sun, Clarkson said that he was warned by doctors that "a lot" of the work he does "will have to go" – and he must "cut my alarmingly high levels of cholesterol".
