Fans were left terrified for Shakira after the superstar took a tumble mid-song at a concert. The fall happened during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour stop in San Salvador, El Salvador, on Saturday night.
Shakira was singing her hit song Si Te Vas as she ran across the stage. During the walk, she suddenly twisted her ankle and crashed to the ground, landing hard on her elbow and bringing down her microphone stand with her.
In a matter of seconds, though, she was back on her feet and continued with the song. She even called out to the crowd: “Ouch, what a fall!” before performing on. Her speedy recovery was met with a cheer from her guitarist.

However, fans remained worried about the singer, but many praised her for how she handled the fall. One local said: “Shakira has overcome worse falls and always manages to rise like a phoenix!” Another wrote: “Poor thing, but that can happen to anyone — let’s go Shakira!” A third added: “Super agile in getting up quickly and continuing the show.”
Fans were so worried that Shakira hopped on Instagram the next day to assuage fears. “Don’t worry,” she wrote in Spanish. “I’m made of rubber hahah.” She added: “No one is immune to falls.”
The concert was part of Shakira’s current world tour, which is promoting her latest album of the same name. It has been described as one of the biggest female-led tours of recent years and has drawn huge crowds across Latin America, North America and beyond.
This isn’t the first time Shakira has taken a spill on stage. Fans also saw her slip during a tour stop in Montreal last year, but like this time, she carried on with her set, with one of her biggest hits, Whenever, Wherever.

Shakira isn’t just a global pop icon on tour — she also headlined one of the most talked-about Super Bowl halftime shows in recent history. Alongside Jennifer Lopez, she co-headlined the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show in 2020 in Miami, a performance that drew more than 103 million viewers in the U.S. alone, higher than the game’s own average viewership. The show generated massive social media activity and became a cultural moment for Latin music and performers on a global stage.
This year, she cheered on fellow Latin superstar Bad Bunny, who headlined the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show, sending him a heartfelt message and recalling their 2020 collaboration.

Three years ago, Shakira released BZRP Music Sessions #53/66 with Argentine producer Bizarrap, and it became one of the defining music moments of her career. The track exploded online, breaking records on platforms like YouTube and Spotify. In its first 24 hours it racked up tens of millions of views, setting new records for most streams and views for a Latin music release.
The song hit No. 1 in multiple countries and became a global cultural talking point. It was widely interpreted as a **direct and unfiltered response to her breakup with footballer Gerard Piqué, which followed years of a high-profile relationship and ended amid reports he had been unfaithful.
Fans embraced the track not just as a breakup song, but as a moment of empowerment — a raw, blunt declaration from Shakira in the wake of one of the biggest personal chapters of her life.
