Chuck Norris has died aged 86.
The US actor and martial arts star's death was confirmed by his family, who said that Norris is regarded as "a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather" and "an incredible brother".
Norris was known for starring as the titular character in the US action TV series, Walker Texas Ranger, as well as in the 1972 hit, The Way Of The Dragon, alongside his friend Bruce Lee. He starred across almost forty action movies that cemented his reputation as a hardman with principles who often stood up to bullies.
Prior to his acting career, Chuck Norris served in the US Air Force. He was also a black belt in Karate, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Brazilian jiu jitsu. He was encouraged to pursue acting on a regular basis by his close friend, Steve McQueen, bursting onto the scene in 1977 action film, Breaker! Breaker!
He is also renowned for roles including The Expendables 2, The Delta Force and Code Of Silence. He also starred in A Force Of One (1979), The Octagon (1980), and An Eye For An Eye (1981).
The actor also starred as special ops military men who faced dangerous missions abroad and taking on a much more edgy take on American justice. Norris' made his final film as himself in Australian action comedy, Zombie Plane.

In a statement posted to Norris' Instagram account, the late actor's family had this to say.
"It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace", they said. "To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family".
They also said that Norris "lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved", and said his work "inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives".
"While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him", they added."The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends".
"We know many of you had heard about his recent hospitalization, and we are truly grateful for the prayers and support you sent his way".
"As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time".
"Thank you for loving him with us".
Chuck Norris was married twice, having two children with first wife Dianne Holecheck, who passed away in December. The pair had two sons, Mike an actor and Nascar champion, Eric Norris. He was also married to Gene O'Kelley, with whom her shared twins, Danilee and Dakota.
Following an extramarital affair from his time in the US Air Force, he also had a daughter called Dina.
