A three-part documentary series about Matthew Perry is coming to Netflix in October.
The documentary series titled 'The One About Matthew Perry" will explore the life of Perry, from his childhood to his struggles with addiction.
It has been revealed that Perry’s sister Mia Perry Bowick will share her memories with the Friends actor and share photos and videos from the family's archive.
"It’s taken time for me to feel ready to share these memories and what it was like to love Matthew through all the complexity of his life," she said.
Perry's sister said that she wanted people to see her brother for who he was not just Chandler Bing or someone who struggled with addiction.
"Matthew had a beautiful heart and a generous spirit, and even in his darkest moments, he could still make you laugh and feel loved. I hope this series gives everyone who loved him, whether personally or from afar, a deeper appreciation for who he truly was, and the legacy he leaves behind," she said.
It has not been confirmed that any of Perry's Friends co-stars will appear in the documentary, however Netflix stated that it will feature people who knew Perry best.
Perry starred in Friends for 10 season which ran from 1994-2004 and starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
Perry died at his Los Angeles home on 28 October 2023, aged 54. According to the medical examiner, the acute effects of ketamine were the primary cause of death, while drowning was identified as a contributing factor.
His former live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, admitted to obtaining and repeatedly administering ketamine to Perry, including the dose that proved fatal. He was subsequently sentenced to three years and five months in prison.
