Westlife star Shane Filan and his wife Gillian Filan are celebrating a milestone moment after the band delivered what fans are calling one of their most spectacular performances yet — a special 25th anniversary concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Gillian, who has supported her husband throughout his decades-long career, was proudly in attendance for the landmark gig. The Sligo-born mum-of-two shared several behind-the-scenes snaps from the night, capturing the excitement and emotion of the evening.
In one photo, the couple looked elegant as ever, posing backstage before the show. Gillian stunned in a cherry-red gown paired with a cream tweed blazer, her hair styled in an elegant up-do with soft waves framing her face. She completed the look with smokey-eye makeup and a natural lip. Shane, meanwhile, cut a dashing figure in a black tuxedo and dress shoes, beaming as he stood beside his wife.
Sharing her photos with fans on social media, Gillian wrote: “Oh what a night is right. What an incredible night at the @royalalberthall. Westlife always deliver the best show but last night was on another level.”
Fans and friends flooded her comments with messages of admiration and love. One wrote: “You both look incredible.” Another added: “Beautiful couple Shane and Gillian. Congrats for everything guys.” A third commented: “Love your style @gillianfilansligo — you look stunning and that dress is so spectacular.”
The performance itself marked a huge moment for Westlife, who continue to celebrate an extraordinary career that spans over two decades. Formed in Sligo in the late 1990s, the band has sold more than 55 million records worldwide, earning their place among the most successful pop acts in music history. Their latest performance at the Royal Albert Hall — one of the most iconic venues in the world — was both a nod to their enduring legacy and a promise of more to come.
The group, known for timeless hits like Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up, and World of Our Own, performed a setlist packed with fan favourites, emotional ballads, and powerful harmonies that have defined their sound for 25 years. For Gillian, watching her husband perform at such an iconic stage was clearly a proud and emotional experience — one she was eager to share with their loyal fanbase.
The concert also marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the band. Following their Royal Albert Hall triumph, Westlife are preparing for a major anniversary tour kicking off next year.
Westlife have announced eight additional dates for their 2026 3Arena residency, bringing the total number of shows to thirteen — a new record for the Dublin venue and for the band themselves.
The Irish pop icons will now perform across 13 nights in September 2026, with shows confirmed for 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 September. Tickets are on sale now, with prices ranging from €80 to €369 including fees.
The announcement follows what promoters describe as “extraordinary demand” after tickets for the initial run sold out within hours earlier this week. The expanded schedule marks another milestone in Westlife’s long-standing connection to Dublin, where they have repeatedly broken attendance records since reuniting in 2019.
The new dates coincide with the release of the band’s upcoming album 25 – The Ultimate Collection, due 13 February 2026. The record celebrates 25 years of Westlife’s career, combining classic hits with new material, including the recently released single “Chariot”, written by Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid, and Will Reynolds, and produced by longtime collaborator Steve Mac.
Speaking about the project, the group said: “This year marks 25 years since we started this incredible journey together and it still feels like only the beginning. The support from our fans has been unbelievable, and to celebrate with this world tour, new music, and a brand-new album feels truly special.”
The Dublin shows form the centrepiece of the band’s Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour, which will also visit Belfast’s SSE Arena before heading to major cities across the UK and Europe later in the year.
