Joanne McNally has kept her word of eating her bonnet (kind of) after Richard E Grant was banished from the castle in Celebrity Traitors.
SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 3 OF THE CELEBRITY TRAITORS BELOW. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Acting legend Richard made history as the first traitor ever eliminated during the first roundtable, after his bold strategy of… admitting he was a traitor immediately after being made one… backfired spectacularly.

After a near-unanimous vote that saw him banished, including votes from fellow traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster, Richard wasn’t too broken up about it, gleefully saying he had the time of his life during his (short) stint in the castle and admitting he was a traitor.
One of Richard’s few detractors was comedian Joanne McNally, who voted for Leigh-Anne Pinnock during the first roundtable and was adamant that, despite Richard’s admission, he couldn’t have been a traitor, saying she’d eat her hat if it turned out he was.
Sure enough, Richard was a traitor, and Joanne, now in Denver ahead of a gig, filmed herself looking for a hat to eat.

Picking out a Denver Broncos hat, Joanne sat down to salt and ‘eat’ the hat, choking it down as she ‘chewed’ on the brim.
‘I might have the lie detector skills of a toilet brush, but I am a woman of my word!’ Joanne wrote in the caption. ‘Pass me the bonnet! And death to @richard.e.grant!! May his cravats be itchy and give him neck acne! (Actually, he is now game dead, so maybe not the death curse I thought it would be). LY Richard!’
Joanne’s fellow faithfuls (and a few traitors) thought that the video was hilarious, including Richard himself, who commented a series of hilarious emojis.

‘I adore you,’ faithful Joe Lycett commented, while another pointed out that, despite not getting Richard right, her theory that new traitor Hannah Fry is one was spot on: ‘You’re iconic, love how you got the Hannah theory right though.’
While the faithful didn’t miss the layup that was Richard being a traitor, they couldn’t make lightning strike twice after they banished faithful Myha’la in the second roundtable.
James and Maya were able to recruit Professor Hannah to be the latest traitor, although she was on the chopping block alongside Jerry Hall — raising suspicions after both of them appeared on breakfast the next morning, neither of them having been murdered.
