The RTÉ board are to meet with Minister for Media Catherine Martin this morning to discuss the ongoing scandal over non-disclosed payements at the broadcaster.

Minister Martin is to meet with Chair of the RTÉ board Siún Ní Raghallaigh, interm deputy Director General Adrian Lynch, and incoming RTÉ Director Kevin Bakhurst at her department.

At this meeting, the minister and the board are to discuss the recent failures from the broadcaster's executives to disclose all relevant information to two oireachtas committees, regarding the recent payement scandal.

They are also expected to discuss Mr Bankurst's restructuring plans that he intends to introduce, when he takes over as director for the broadcaster next week.

The severity of this situation has been underlined by the fact that Minister Martin brought this meeting forward from next Monday to this coming Friday, while Ní Raghallaigh called this payement scandal "the darkest episode in RTÉ's history".
