Ed Sheeran has admitted that he has his own grave in his back garden.

The singer made this unusual revelation amid rumours that a crypt had been built on his £4 million estate.

Located near Framlingham, Suffolk, the 16 acre estate which has been titled 'Sheeranville', has been renovated by the singer over the years, so that it includes a luxury treehouse, pub conversion, along with a heart shaped pond.

In the interview, it also emerged that a crypt had been built, where Sheeran would host friends' weddings. and mourn the loss of people in his life, something which the 'Perfect' singer has been very outspoken about in the past, having lost close friends DJ Jamal Edwards, and cricketer Shane Warne.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a crypt", Sheeran explained.

Following its completion, Sheeran admitted that he thought the chapel was so beautiful, that he felt he wanted to be buried in it.

“It’s a hole that’s dug in the ground with a bit of stone over it, so whenever the day comes and I pass away, I get to go in there", the singer said. “People think it’s really weird and really morbid, but I’ve had friends die without wills, and no one knows what to do".

According to previous reports, proposals were submitted to the Dennington Parish Council in December 2021 to build the burial space. Approximately the size of a double grave at 2.7m by 1.8m, it would be located at the back of the building, underneath a slab in the floor.

Earlier this month, Ed Sheeran received the Gold Brit Billion Award, for reaching 10 billion career streams, becoming the first artist to do so.
