Pink Changes Lyrics In Support Of Britney Spears As Sam Asghari Files For Divorce

Pink has showed her support for Britney Spears in light of her recent separation from husband Sam Asghari.

The couple tied the knot in June 2022, having first met in 2016, while Britney Spears was filming her music video 'Slumber Party'. However, Spears' husband Sam Asghari has filed for divorce, citing 'irreconcilable differences".

While performing at Detroit's Comercia Park this week as part of her tour, Pink changed the lyrics for 2001 hit 'Don't Let Me Get Me' to a more favourable version in support of Spears.

The original lyrics show Pink singing, “Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears / She’s so pretty, that just ain’t me". 

However while on stage, Pink swapped the lyrics "damn" to "sweet", with fans picking up on this lyric change, posting footage of this performance online. Check it out below.

Confirming that he has filed for divorce in a statement, fitness trainer Sam Asghari wrote, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. S*** happens. Asking for privacy seems [ridiculous] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful". 

Not long after announcing their engagement in 2021, the couple had confirmed they were also expecting their first child, however they revealed that they later suffered a miscarriage. 

Asghari has supported Spears during her mental health issues, and in her campaign to end her conservatorship with her father Jamie, which she was granted in 2021.
