The Princess of Wales is to host a special Christmas carol service from Westminister Abbey this year.

Taking place on Christmas Eve on ITV, the event will include a special duet from Adam Lambert and Beverly Knight, while Westminister Abbey's choir will also perform some favourite Christmas carols.

The service has been billed as a "moment to thank all those who work to support babies, young children and families". Its aim is to "bring people together at Christmas time".

Supported by the Royal Foundation, the service is to combine traditional and modern elements and include "people of all faiths and none".

Along with duets, the service will also see the Prince of Wales, Roman Kemp, Emma Willis, and Jim Broadbent give readings, against a backdrop of sustainable, eco-friendly decorations at Westminister Abbey.

Guests invited to this service also include those that may find the Winter period difficult, and those work work in early years.

The service will start at 7.45pm on Christmas Eve on ITV.
