The Script have announced an intimate show at The Academy in Dublin this Friday, ahead of their "surprise" set at Electric Picnic this weekend.

Tickets for this show will go on sale tomorrow (August 30) at 10am, with the doors opening at 7pm on the night. The Script are expected to hit the stage at 8.30 pm.

This show also marks The Script's first show in the capital since the passing of their guitarist Mark Sheehan back in April. Sheehan passed away aged 46.

“This is going to be BIG! We’re coming home! We are performing in Dublin Friday September 1st at @academydublin! Tickets go on sale Wednesday Aug 30th at 10am. #TheScriptFamily can’t wait to see you there”, the band tweeted.

Since Sheehan passed away, the Script singer Danny O'Donoghue and drummer Glen Power have continued to perform, keeping the show on the road. The pair have previously insisted that continuing to perform as the Script was what Sheehan would have wanted.
