A young boy remains in hospital with serious injuries following a road collision in Co Galway.
The young boy was involved in a car crash at Ballyedmond in Clonberne, Ballinasloe, on Saturday night and was rushed to University Hospital Galway with gardai closing off the R328 road until late yesterday evening.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision at Ballyedmond, Clonberne, Ballinasloe on the night of Saturday 22nd August, 2026."
"A male passenger, juvenile was seriously injured and removed from the scene to University Hospital Galway."
The road was closed overnight to allow for an examination carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, diversion via Tuam out in place.
According to reports, investigations are ongoing.
