Katie Taylor's Croker Finale Brings Peak TV Audience Of 1.6 Million

Katie Taylor's final fight which saw her become a three time undisputed World Champion, brought in a peak audience of 1.6 million viewers on RTÉ television.

The fight saw Taylor sign off on a stellar boxing career as she secured a points victory over French fighter Flora Pili, where the Bray native defended her WBO, WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine titles, as well as taking home the WBC Super Lightweight belt.

This event was also saw over half a million streams (552,000) on RTÉ Player, as well as an averaged of 973,000 TV viewers, which represents a 74% share of the available viewing audience.


"On a historic Saturday night, Irish audiences came together in huge numbers to celebrate the extraordinary career of an Irish sporting icon. Katie Taylor's final victory was a national moment that will be remembered for many years to come", RTÉ Director of Video Steve Carson said.

"RTÉ Sport felt it was important to be able to bring live coverage from Croke Park to viewers and listeners, free-to-air, right across the country. 

The fight was also broadcast worldwide by DAZN, which helped to facilitate free-to-air coverage by RTÉ.
