Fresh from her historic Croke Park victory over the weekend, Katie Taylor has shared which actor she would love to see portray her in a movie based on her life.
This comes after Taylor brought the curtain down on what has been a truly wonderful boxing career with a points victory over French undefeated fighter, Flora Pili, assuring her status as one of the greatest Irish sports stars of all time.
In her press conference, the Bray native was asked who she would like to see play her in a film about her life and career.
It was at this point that Taylor mentioned the Irish Oscar nominated actress, Saoirse Ronan.
“Saoirse Ronan maybe", Taylor replied, before offering some pearls of wisdom for the actress.
“She has to start working on her neck though,” Taylor joked. “She has a bit of a skinny neck and I have a big fat neck,” she added with a laugh. (All quotes according to the Irish Independent).
Saoirse Ronan’s career has seen her earn four Oscar nominations for Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird and Little Women.
Back in August, Saoirse Ronan was spotted filming in the upcoming Beatles' biopics, directed by Sam Mendes. She is to portray Linda McCartney, the late wife of Beatles legend, Paul McCartney. More on this here.
