Taylor Swift has announced a surprise deluxe version of The Life of a Showgirl, with four brand new songs arriving this week.
The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore will be released on September 25 and will include four new tracks, including Swift's newly announced single Patient Zero.

Swift revealed the news on social media, explaining that the extra songs came about after she travelled to Sweden to celebrate the success of the album with collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.
She said they had originally planned to simply reflect on the album's success, but ended up back in the studio.

"Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs."
Swift said the new tracks were created out of gratitude for the response to The Life of a Showgirl.
"I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made."

The announcement comes just a day after Swift revealed Patient Zero as a new single.
Fans had already started speculating that something was coming after Swift changed her Instagram bio, replacing the letter “o” with zeros.
She also launched a countdown on her website, which reached zero at 7pm before she revealed the title and artwork for Patient Zero.
The cover shows Swift leaning against a wall wearing a black high-neck, sleeveless top.
Swift announced the track on Instagram, writing: “I've been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single ‘Patient Zero’ will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it’s available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours.”

The new release comes during a huge year for Swift, who has received 11 nominations at this year's VMAs.
She is nominated for Artist Of The Year and Best Album for The Life of a Showgirl, as well as Video Of The Year, Best Pop, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography, Best Visual Effects and Best Direction for Opalite.
The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore is released on September 25.
