Taylor Swift has announced a new single called Patient Zero, which will be released this Friday, September 25.
The announcement came after Swift sparked speculation among fans on Tuesday when she changed her Instagram bio, replacing the letter “o” with zeros.
She also launched a countdown on her website, which was due to reach zero at 7pm.

When the countdown ended, Swift revealed the title of her new track and shared its cover art, showing her leaning against a wall while wearing a black high-neck, sleeveless top.
Fans can also pre-order the single through Swift's website, with pre-orders available for 24 hours.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Swift wrote: “I've been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single ‘Patient Zero’ will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it’s available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours.”

The new release comes several months after Swift released I Knew It, I Knew You in June as part of the Toy Story 5 soundtrack.
That track was nominated for Song Of The Summer at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift has received 11 nominations at this year's VMAs, including Artist Of The Year and Best Album for The Life Of A Showgirl.
She is also set to receive the inaugural Artist Director honour at Sunday's ceremony, recognising her work behind the camera and her contribution to visual storytelling.

Swift made her solo directorial debut in 2020 with the music video for The Man, which won Best Direction at that year's MTV VMAs.
She followed that with All Too Well: The Short Film in 2021, which won Video Of The Year, Best Long-Form Video and Best Direction.
Swift has since directed videos for a number of her songs, including Cardigan, Willow, Anti-Hero, Bejeweled, Lavender Haze, Karma, I Can See You, Fortnight, The Fate Of Ophelia and Opalite.
Her music videos are also known for featuring easter eggs and clues which can hint at upcoming music and projects.
At this year's VMAs, Swift has also been nominated for Video Of The Year, Best Pop, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography, Best Visual Effects and Best Direction for Opalite.
