Ben Elton is considering turning Oasis songs into a jukebox musical after approaching Noel Gallagher about the idea.
The comedian and writer is no stranger to musical theatre, having previously created We Will Rock You around the music of Queen and Tonight's The Night featuring the songs of Rod Stewart.
Now, it seems Oasis could be next.

According to The Sun, Elton met Noel at the London premiere of Queen Budapest last week, where the pair were among the guests at the screening.
Elton reportedly made a beeline for Noel as they left the cinema and told him that seeing Oasis on their reunion tour last year with his children had been one of the best nights of his life.
He then cheekily asked Noel about the possibility of creating an “Oasis jukebox musical”.
Noel apparently laughed and replied: “You better ask our kid.”
The “our kid” in question is, of course, Noel's younger brother Liam Gallagher.

Whether Liam would actually agree to the idea remains to be seen, with The Sun reporting that he may not be keen on seeing an actor portray him on stage.
An Oasis musical would certainly arrive at a time when interest in the band is once again huge.

The reunion has since been captured in the new documentary Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger, which was released in cinemas in September.
The film follows Liam and Noel from rehearsals through their comeback shows and features behind-the-scenes footage, performances and their first joint interview in more than 20 years. It also focuses on the brothers rebuilding their relationship as they returned to the stage together.
The documentary also includes footage from Oasis' two shows at Croke Park in Dublin last year, which were among the 12 concerts filmed across three continents for the movie.

The reunion has continued to gather momentum, with Oasis now preparing for a second run of shows next year.
More than 11 million people reportedly registered for the ballot for the band's upcoming 42-show tour, which will begin at Celtic Park in Glasgow on May 21, 2027. The shows will include six dates at Knebworth.
With songs including Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova, Live Forever and Supersonic in the Oasis catalogue, Elton would certainly have plenty of material to work with.
For now, though, the idea appears to be just that — an idea. The first hurdle may be convincing both Gallagher brothers to give it the green light.
