Liz Kavanagh's husband has created a touching way for people to honor her, after she sadly passed away in May, following a hard-fought battle with colon cancer.

Kieran O Malley, who married his love during the depth of her illness in March 2026, has created a product to symbolise Liz's generosity of spirit, with all of the profits going to Galway Hospice, where she died.

The couple owned a hand-poured candle business together, called Blazer, and so it was the natural next step for Kieran to produce a candle for his late wife. The creation was named Liz's Light, as Kieran says Liz was 'the light of my life.'

The forest green, soy wax candles will be available to buy on Blazer Candles' website, as well as at pop-ups around the west of Ireland, including The Connacht Hotel in Galway and The Cot and Cobble in Ballina, Mayo.

'I really can't wait for people to smell Liz's Light a luxurious scent which will be on sale from next week. Donation from every candle going to @galwayhospice,' Kieran penned online, sharing a snap of the candle sitting beside a photograph of him and Liz.

People flocked to the comment section to show their support, including some well known faces. Jennifer Wrynne, who was a close friend of the late Galway woman, led the way. 'Can’t wait to buy it,' she penned alongside a red heart emoji.

'I can confirm it’s absolutely gorgeous and I’ll be stocking up for the whole house. Well done. She is so proud of you!' Charlene Flanagan wrote, while another person added: 'Can’t wait to see and smell Liz’s Light - she would be so proud of you and looking forward to seeing you again too Kieran.'

Kieran had the difficult task of informing Liz's followers of her death earlier this year, dubbing their love 'the best thing that happened in my life.'

After learning she had 'weeks not months' to live following an unsuccessful operation, Kieran proposed. In late March 2026, just days after she entered hospice care, they organized an intimate wedding in just two hours.

Defying the odds, Liz managed to walk down the aisle herself. The couple shared several 'mini-honeymoons' and lived life to the absolute fullest in her final weeks.
