Alison Hammond has hit back at trolls for judging the 22 year age gap between her and her partner.
Hammond, best known for presenting, ITV's The Morning, has been in a relationship with her boyfriend , David Putnam, a model, since 2023.
Speaking to Attitude magazine, Hammond has told trolls to "mind your business", while insisting that she does not pay attention to such criticism, and instead thinks people worry too much about other people's personal lives.
"Mind your business", was Hammond's message while speaking to the outlet.
She continued: "No, genuinely, I think people spend far too much time worrying about other people’s relationships".
"If two consenting adults are happy, loved, respected and making each other laugh, what exactly is the problem? People will always have an opinion", she added. "I’ve learned that you can’t live your life according to everybody else’s opinions because you’ll end up exhausted and miserable. Love who you love".
Elsewhere, Hammond said that one of the things she loves most about her relationship with Putnam is that they are able to make each other laugh.
"Life is too short to be in a relationship where you can’t laugh together", she said. "We’re different in lots of ways, but sometimes those differences are exactly what makes it interesting. And, let’s be honest, I bring the life experience and he brings the youth. It’s basically a human multi-generational home!". (Quotes according to RTÉ).
Along with This Morning, Hammond is also renowned for presenting Channel 4's Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding. She burst onto the scene when she appeared on Big Brother in 2002.
