For the first time in 22 years, Cate Blanchett has been pictured filming in Dublin.

The Oscar winning actress who famously played Veronica Guerin in the film about the murdered Sunday Independent journalist, was spotted filming in the capital yesterday.

Blanchett was snapped wearing a wig, and glasses, while talking on a mobile phone in a metallic blue Toyota, registered in 1997. The vehicle was parked in Stoneybatter Dublin's north inner city.

According to reports, this film is to be called Father, Mother, Sister, Brother. Scenes for this movie have already been shot in New Jersey, and is due to move to Paris, when filming finishes here.

Legendary film maker Jim Jarmusch is to direct this movie, which he has described as “a funny and sad film”. Jarmusch had previously worked with Blanchett on the 2003 anthology Coffee & Cigarettes, which saw her play dual roles.

Veronica Guerin saw Blanchett star as the crusading journalist in a film which also starred Ciaran Hinds, Brenda Fricker and a young Colin Farrell.

Blanchett's career has since garnered major success, including two Oscar wins, with her first arriving in 2004 for Best Supporting Actress for The Aviator, where she played Katherin Hepburn.

Her second Academy Award came in 2013, when she landed the accolade for Best Actress, for her role in Blue Jasmine

Cate Blanchett has just completed her latest project Rumours, which also features Alicia Vikander, and Charles Dance. Filiming for this movie took place in Hungary.
