Golden Globes 2024: Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan & Andrew Scott Among Nominees

Ireland will be very well represented at this year's Golden Globe Awards, with Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan and Andrew Scott all nominated in the best actor category.

Cork native and Oppenheimer star Murphy, was nominated in the category, following his portrayal of physicist J Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's film, with Nolan, and Murphy's co-star Emily Blunt also nominated.

Andrew Scott was nominated for best actor, for his role in All Of Us Strangers, which also co-stars Paul Mescal. While, Banshees of Inisherin star Barry Keoghan earned another best actor nod, for his role in Saltburn.

Joining Murphy, Keoghan and Scott in the best actor category are household names Leonardo Di Caprio (Killers Of The Flower Moon), Colmon Domingo (Rustin), and Bradley Cooper (Maestro).

Ireland will also be represented on the night by comedy film, Poor Things, which has received several nominations, including Best Picture, Musical or Comedy, as well as best actress thanks to Emma Stone. It was produced by Ireland's Element Pictures. 

The best actress category will also include Margot Robbie for her role in Barbie, with Greta Gerwig nominated for Best Director. 

The Golden Globes Awards will take place on 7 January 2024.
