Matthew Perry Could Receive Posthumous Star Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Friends star Mathew Perry could be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to a new report.

Mathew Perry who starred alongside Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc, and David Schwimmer in the hit sitcom, Friends, died at his home in Los Angeles last week.

The 54 year old was found dead in his bathtub. His funeral took place in Los Angeles this week, which was attended by his Friends co stars.

It has since been reported Perry could be honoured by the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 

According to several media outlets, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who oversee the Walk of Fame, would “love to honour the late actor with a star and a posthumous ceremony”.

Mathew Perry who starred at the sarcastically funny Chandler Bing in Friends, was initially selected for the Walk of Fame in 2013. However, the award expired in 2018, and that ceremony was never scheduled. 

Following his death, a statement was released, and signed by each of the co stars from Friends, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kurdrow, Matt Le Blanc and Jennifer Aniston.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew”, the cast said in this joint statement. Adding, “We were more than just cast mates. We are a family”. 

They continued, “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss”.

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world”.
