Tom Hanks has openly stated that he is a big fan of Cher, especially following her performance in 'Mamma Mia 2', otherwise known as 'Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again'.

Hanks made this revelation while sitting on a couch with Cher, during his recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, alongside fellow guests, Julia Roberts, and Timothée Chalamet.

This happened after Norton had asked Cher if she listens to her own music, to which the singer replied with, “I’m not a big Cher fan. Usually I like the songs that weren’t hits".

When asked by the Irish host if she watches her own films, Cher replied, “No".

It was at this point that Tom Hanks jumped in, to heap the praise on Cher for her performance of 'Fernando' in 'Mamma Mia 2'.

“You’re missing out. You’re missing out. Motion picture perfection? Mamma Mia 2", Hanks remarked.

“Fernando,” Hanks said. “When she busts out ‘Fernando,’ the world stops. Suns clash with the stars. It’s perfection!”.

The Forrest Gump star then joked that everyone should leave and watch a Cher movie, “I think we should all go to the theater and watch Cher’s movies right now”.

“Let’s have a Cher-a-thon!”, Julia Roberts joked.
