Victoria Beckham has spoken about the "hardest period" of her marriage to former footballer David in a new Netflix documentary.

The four part documentary which arrives on the Netflix screens today (October 4), will see Victoria address speculation regarding an alleged affair that David was accused of having in 2003. Beckham was playing for Real Madrid at the time.

The documentary 'Beckham', premiered yesterday (October 3). It hits the Netflix screens today.

The woman who David Beckham was accused of having the affair with, has never been named. The couple have always denied the allegations.

In extracts taken from the documentary, Victoria discusses the allegations.

"It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us", she said. "Here’s the thing — we were against each other if I’m being completely honest".

She continued, "You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other".

"But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either", Victoria added. "And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare".
