A 19-year-old cyclist has died following a road collision in Lucan, west Dublin, early this morning.
The incident occurred at the junction of Griffeen Avenue, the R136, and Balgaddy Road, where the teenager was struck by a van.
Emergency services responded quickly to the scene and administered treatment before transporting the man to Tallaght Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene, and local traffic diversions remain in place while the investigation continues.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
