A teenage girl has died following a serious two-car collision in Tuam, Co Galway, on Sunday evening.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:05pm on Ballygaddy Road. The driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her late teens, was taken to University Hospital Galway where she later passed away from her injuries.
The driver and passenger in the second car, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s, were also taken to hospital but are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí have launched a witness appeal as they continue to investigate the incident. They are asking anyone who was in the Ballygaddy Road area between 5:50pm and 6:15pm on Sunday evening and who may have seen the collision to come forward.
They are also appealing to road users with dash cam or other footage from the area around the time of the crash to share it with investigating officers.
