Revenue officers have seized a significant quantity of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €2.94 million during an intelligence-led operation in Limerick.
The haul that totalled 147 kilograms, was discovered on Wednesday as part of a joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), and the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit.
Authorities say the seizure forms part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime groups and the illegal drug trade across Ireland.
Revenue is urging the public and businesses with information on drug smuggling to contact them confidentially at 1800 295 295. Investigations into the seizure are continuing.
