Gardaí are treating the death of a Brazilian woman in Limerick as a murder-suicide after the body of the man suspected of killing her was found in Cork, RTÉ reports.
Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, a 33-year-old law graduate from Brazil, was found dead at an apartment on Lower Cecil Street on Friday morning.
It is understood that friends of Ms Pereira Rosa had been waiting outside the building for her before contacting Gardaí when she failed to appear.
When Gardaí arrived at the scene, they discovered her body in an apartment upstairs.
A murder investigation was launched following a post-mortem examination, which found evidence of foul play in her death.
It is believed the man suspected of her murder left Limerick on public transport on Friday and travelled to Cork.
His body was discovered in Cork on Saturday.
The man was known to Ms Pereira Rosa.
Gardaí are now treating the circumstances as a murder-suicide.
A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support Ms Pereira Rosa's family as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, a fundraising campaign set up to help her family with repatriation and funeral costs has raised more than €25,000.
Ms Pereira Rosa was working with a cleaning company in Limerick, and it is understood that her employer is covering the cost of repatriating her remains to São Paulo, Brazil.
The funds raised through the campaign will help cover the costs of a wake and funeral in her hometown of Sorocaba.
Tributes have been paid to Ms Pereira Rosa, who was described as a popular member of the Brazilian community in Limerick.
Those who knew her have remembered her as a kind and bubbly person.
The investigation into her death remains ongoing.
