Twenty-one business leaders have undertook an extraordinary challenge of completing nine marathons in nine days to raise vital funds for Cancer Fund for Children.
As part of Best’s 'Miles to Mayo' campaign, the group is travelling around Ireland, with their journey set to conclude today (20th September) in Cong, Co Mayo, at the home to Cancer Fund for Children’s second Daisy Lodge therapeutic short break centre.
The new Daisy Lodge facility in Cong, expected to open in 2027, will provide therapeutic short breaks and specialist support for children and families affected by cancer. Cancer Fund for Children currently delivers emotional and therapeutic support to young people living with cancer and their families in homes, hospitals and at its existing Daisy Lodge centre in Newcastle.
The campaign aims to raise fund to match the expensive of growing demand and equally raise awareness, so all young people diagnosed with cancer in Ireland can be offered a dedicated therapeutic environment where patients and their families can rest, recover and receive support.
