The Mayo footballers were met with a heroes' welcome as they returned to Castlebar for a spectacular homecoming following their historic All Ireland win in Croke Park on Sunday.
This comes after the Green and Red ended 75 years of hurt to capture the Sam Maguire, their first win since 1951, following a three point win over Kerry in Croke Park.
Thousands upon thousands of fans turned up to Hastings Insurance MacHale Park to greet the team, a team that were largely written off ahead of the final against Kerry, who were seeking a second consecutive All Ireland success for the first time since 2007.
One fan who attended the event was Sharon Rafter, who was holding a custom-made Kobe McDonald flag, with the words, 'Leave as a Champion' emblazoned across it, referring to the teenager's impending departure to Australia as he takes up a professional contract with St Kilda.
Speaking to RTÉ, Sharon revealed that she brought the flag for her so, who was unable to make the party as he is currently in the Gaeltachta in Leitir Mór.
"Unfortunately, I didn't get tickets for the All-Ireland, but I watched it at home. And I'm here today," she said.
"My son got this flag made up for the semi-final ... All the kids, all the young lads, they love Kobe", she added. "They all aspire to be like him, and it's great to see. It's sad to see him go ... but he'll be back!".
Following their arrival at MacHale Park, the Mayo team, led by captain Jack Coyne, Ryan O'Donoghue and Darren MacHale began to sing along to 'The Green and Red of Mayo' in the tunnel, before they emerged onto the stage, presenting the Sam Maguire trophy to the fans who had waited so long to see it.
One player who had soldiered with the team for years was Aidan O'Shea, a man who played in four All Ireland finals for Mayo, finishing as runner up every time. This time around, O'Shea was in the winning enclosure, and you would want to have a heart of stone to begrudge the tree time All Star this moment.
Beside O'Shea, was a player who succeeded in his first final, Kobe McDonald, whose father Ciaran had lined out in two All Ireland finals for Mayo in 2004 and 2006. Kobe gave three fist pumps to the crowd as he was met with wild applause from the fans.
