Sky has confirmed a new emotional Boyzone documentary titled One for the Road, offering an intimate look at what is being described as the band’s “final chapter” as they prepare for a reunion and farewell.
The announcement follows the success of the Sky Original documentary series Boyzone: No Matter What, which revisited the group’s rise to fame and personal history, and became a major hit for Sky’s documentary division.
The new one-off film will follow Boyzone as they prepare for two major reunion concerts at Emirates Stadium, which are being billed as their final live performances together.
According to Sky, the documentary will go behind the scenes of the build-up to the shows, capturing the emotional reality of a band returning after years apart, with unresolved tensions and unfinished business from their final tour in 2019.

Exec producer Dov Freedman said: “The response to the series was incredible, breaking records for the Sky Docs team. I think audiences really engaged in a celebrity doc with such raw truth and honesty”
He added: “We’re incredibly privileged to be working with the boys again and telling the story of their final chapter”
Sky Head of Documentary Commissioning Hayley Reynolds said: “Boyzone: No Matter What sparked an extraordinary outpouring of love for the band, and we’re thrilled to be working with Curious again to document this landmark reunion — something that may never have happened had the boys not approached telling their story with such honesty and candid testimony.”
The documentary, titled One for the Road, is described as “warm, funny, raw and revealing” and explores friendship, forgiveness, ageing and legacy, as well as the bond between Boyzone and their fans.
Production comes from Curious Films, directed by Caroline Sciama, with executive producers Dov Freedman and Charlie Russell. It is commissioned by Sky’s unscripted originals team.
The series will air on Sky and NOW later this year.
Following the announcement, fans shared their reaction online:
“Finally. Happy that there will be the final chapter recorded.”
“This is amazing news im going to both nights and so excited to be able to watch it over and over and over and over”
International viewers also called for wider distribution:
“Stream worldwide please!!!”
“Please put the documentary in Netflix México and American Latin please”
Others questioned whether the concerts themselves would be included:
“It would be amazing if we could actually stream the live shows for us who are unable to be there!”
Sky has not yet confirmed whether the Emirates Stadium performances will be shown in full, with further details expected closer to broadcast.
