Dublin folk-rock band Cicada has been selected as one of Ireland's Classic Hits Radio's four finalists for Irish Music Month 2026.
Irish Music Month brings together Ireland's Classic Hits Radio and 22 independent radio stations to champion emerging Irish talent through increased airplay and industry support. The initiative, launched by Hot Press and the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, will once again provide over €100,000 in funding and opportunities for Irish artists and music professionals.

As one of the station's finalists, Cicada will be interviewed on air before our station chooses its own Local Hero to progress to the national shortlist, with each finalist receiving €875.
One act will go forward as Ireland's Classic Hits Radio's Local Hero for national consideration, with six acts ultimately selected to perform at the Grand Finale in Dublin's Academy venue.
