Ahead of Duran Duran's June 2025 tour, bassist John Taylor caught up with Ireland's Classic Hits presenter Trina Mara for a nostalgic chat about the decade that helped define the band.
Reflecting on the 1980s, Taylor described the era as an incredible time for music, noting that it produced some of the most enduring songs in pop history.

Trina also attempted to settle a debate that many Duran Duran fans have had for years by asking Taylor to choose his favourite song. Despite her best efforts, the musician refused to be pinned down to just one track. Instead, he spoke about songs that stand the test of time, explaining that the very best music works "anytime, any place," and can connect with listeners no matter when or where they hear it.
A heartfelt moments of the interview came when Taylor spoke about his love of Ireland. Looking ahead to the band's return, he admitted he was particularly excited about getting the chance to visit Cork, somewhere he hasn't properly been in many years.
