Electric Keys Returns to Electric Picnic 2026 in Search of Ireland’s Next Great Festival Performers
Following an incredibly popular debut at last year’s festival, Electric Keys is set to return to Croí at Electric Picnic 2026, once again transforming a corner of Stradbally Estate into a magical celebration of live music, creativity and connection.
Designed as an open and welcoming performance space, Electric Keys invites musicians of every background and ability to step into the spotlight and become part of the Electric Picnic experience.
At the centre of the space sits the now-iconic stand-alone piano, surrounded by the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere that made the stage one of the festival’s hidden gems in 2025. Across the weekend, selected performers will have the opportunity to play intimate live sets for festival audiences, creating unforgettable moments beneath the trees of Stradbally Estate. From classical musicians and folk singers to jazz performers, singer-songwriters and experimental artists, Electric Keys celebrates all styles and encourages artists to bring their own personality and sound to the stage.
Applications are officially open now, with musicians encouraged to submit a short audio or video clip showcasing their talents before the closing deadline of 11.59pm on 5th June 2026. Open to both solo performers and ensembles with up to four accompanying musicians, Electric Keys offers a rare opportunity for emerging and established artists alike to perform at Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival. Due to overwhelming demand following its first year, the application period has been extended, giving hopeful performers extra time to fine-tune their submissions.
Those selected to perform will take part in curated sessions running throughout the festival weekend from 28th–30th August 2026. To support performers, the stage will once again include a professional four-channel PA system complete with microphone setup for vocals and additional live instruments. Whether artists plan to perform with guitars, violins, accordions or other acoustic accompaniment, the setup is designed to allow flexibility while maintaining the intimate atmosphere that defines Electric Keys.
Beyond the scheduled performances, the stage will remain open to festivalgoers throughout the weekend from sunrise to sunset, encouraging spontaneous performances and shared musical moments among Picnickers.
Visitors can sit down at the piano, collaborate with fellow musicians or simply enjoy the soundtrack of creativity unfolding in real time. With the possibility of selected performances also appearing across Electric Picnic’s social media channels, Electric Keys once again promises to turn fleeting melodies into lasting festival memories.
