Ellie Goulding has welcomed the arrival of her second child, a baby girl.

The singer, who announced her pregnancy back in December, confirmed this news on Instagram, where she announced the arrival of her second child, her first with partner Beau Minniear. This comes months after the pair had gone public with their relationship.

Sharing close up photo of the side of her new born baby's head, Goulding wrote: "On Friday (6 March) I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl", before adding: "We are totally obsessed with her".

Goulding then mentioned that her daughter was born just in time for International Women's Day on March 8.

The Like A Saviour singer penned: "It was fitting that I spent International Women's Day with her and the incredible female team at St Mary's, who provided me and my baby with extraordinary care and kindness".

"I will always be in awe of midwives," the singer continued. "This addition to my family fills me with so much joy, especially as Arthur is so happy to become a big brother to this little angel".

Goulding also shared a photo of a decorated chocolate message, which featured the message:  "Welcome baby sister". Ellie Goulding was previously married to ex husband Casper Jopling, with whom she shares four year old son, Arthur. The former couple were married from 2019 to 2024.

News of this pregnancy meant that Goulding was also forced to release her latest album sooner than expected, having initially planned to release it later this year. Instead, she announced that her album would arrive by March at the latest.

Back in January, Goulding opened up about her new album, admitting that she did not expect it to be a "divorce album".

"I didn't know it was going to be a divorce album, but that’s the way it started heading. When I married my ex-husband, I thought it was for life. That will never go away and that will always stay with me", Goulding said in an interview with Nylon Magazine.

"There are some songs that are necessary for me to acknowledge that time in my life and to be respectful of it. Then there were some songs that were extremely reactionary and sad that I felt were good to do in the moment, but don’t serve me long-term. It feels new. It feels different, this feeling of finally going to a place and releasing something and I don’t feel any pressure".
